I have to admit I mainly took french all four years of high school so I could visit the beautiful country. Although, it’s not hard to fall in love with the language when you had the best french teacher around. My trip to France in 2013 was my second European adventure but definitely the most memorable. I had the opportunity to explore with my friends and classmates which was an amazing experience.
Paris is lovely. It exceeded all my expectations, especially the macaroons. My friends and I still joke about the time I naively bought a box at Laduree that cost 30 euro. No regrets. I remember so much from this trip. I remember how unbelievably cold it was and how unprepared we all were. I remember my French teacher buying me a scarf and how I still wear that scarf all the time. I remember my best friend getting her phone pickpocketed on the top of the Eiffel Tower. I remember everything I ate and declaring it was the best food I had ever tasted. I remember walking around the corner and seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time. I remember how hot and crowded the Louvre was on Easter day. I remember the views from The Sacre-Coeur. I remember the charming streets of Montmartre. Paris is truly a magical place. I cannot wait to return someday and spend more time there.
